OnlyFans features for creators go well beyond posting photos to your feed: mass and paid messages, a vault that organizes all your content, fan lists, scheduled posts, promotions and free trials, tracking links, live streams and statistics. Here’s what each tool is for and how to get the most out of it in the day-to-day running of your account.
If you don’t have an account yet, start with how to make an OnlyFans account. And if you’d rather understand the model first (fees, payouts, income streams), read what OnlyFans is and how it works.

Feed posts
Your feed is what a subscriber sees when they open your profile. It supports photos, videos and text, and any post can include a poll to ask fans what they’d like to see next, or a tip goal for a special piece of content.
Three options worth knowing:
- Expiration date. You can make a post disappear after a set number of days. It’s handy for announcements and promotions you don’t want hanging around forever.
- Tagging other creators. If you post content with someone else, they must be verified and must have given their consent; when you tag them, their profile is linked in the post.
- Pinned posts. Whatever you pin to the top of your feed is the first thing people see: use it for your best content or to explain what subscribers get.
An active feed is what justifies renewing every month. If someone opens your profile and the latest post is two weeks old, chances are they won’t renew.
Stories and highlights
Stories are posts that disappear after 24 hours, like on Instagram. They keep you in touch with fans without crowding your feed: announce a live stream, tease something that’s coming by message or just remind people you’re around. If you want to keep one, save it to your highlights.
How to schedule posts on OnlyFans
When you create a post, you can pick the date and time it goes live, and it waits in your queue of scheduled posts, where you can check it, edit it or delete it before it’s published.
Scheduling is what lets you post consistently without being glued to your phone:
- Set aside one session a week to prepare and upload the next seven days of content.
- Mix formats: your feed doesn’t have to be all photos.
- Check your statistics to see when your fans are most active, and schedule for those times.
- Leave room for spontaneous things: stories, replies to fans or a live stream.
If you want to plan the whole month, our OnlyFans content calendar guide shows how to spread your content across four weeks.
Messages: where most accounts make their money
On many accounts, the chat is where earnings are decided. The subscription provides a base; conversations, message sales and custom requests do the rest.
Private chat
Every fan can message you, and you can reply with text, photos, videos or voice notes, and attach any file from your vault. Fans can also tip you inside the conversation. The key is to reply in a personal tone and within a reasonable time: a fan who feels you’re really talking to them is a fan who buys again.
Paid messages (PPV)
A paid message contains content with a price: the fan sees it locked and pays to view it. You set the price on each message and can send it to one fan or to many at once. It works better when it fits the conversation (something that fan asked for or liked before) than when it arrives out of the blue.
Mass messages on OnlyFans
A mass message is a single send to all your fans or to the lists you choose, free or paid. Use it to announce new content, launch an offer or win back fans who’ve gone quiet.
Two rules so they don’t backfire:
- Segment. There’s no point sending the same offer to someone who already bought that content and to someone who subscribed yesterday. Use lists.
- Don’t overdo it. If every message a fan gets is a sales pitch, they stop opening them and eventually don’t renew. Mix in messages without a price.
Your message statistics show how each send performed, which tells you which offers to repeat and which to drop.
The OnlyFans vault
The vault stores everything you upload: what you post on your feed, what you send by message, your stories and anything you upload directly to use later. From there you can reuse any file in a post or a message without uploading it again.
Its most useful feature is custom lists. Organize your content by how you’ll use it, for example:
- “Feed”: content for posts.
- “PPV”: content saved for paid messages, with a suggested price in the list name.
- “Teasers”: short clips for stories and for your social media.
- “Customs”: made-to-order content for specific fans.
With an organized vault, putting together a mass message or a chat sale takes a minute instead of ten.
Fan lists on OnlyFans
In the Collections section you’ll find the lists OnlyFans creates automatically (your fans, the people you follow, restricted and blocked users), and you can create your own. Custom lists are what let you treat each fan according to how they behave:
- Top spenders, so they get first access to your most exclusive content.
- New subscribers, to welcome them and show them around.
- Fans who turned off auto-renew, to try to keep them.
- Fans who never buy by message, to test entry-level offers.
Combined with mass messages, lists turn a generic send into an offer designed for each group.
Pricing, bundles and promotions
In your subscription settings you set the monthly price (according to OnlyFans’ terms, from $4.99 to $49.99, or free) and you can create:
- Bundles of several months at a discount, which reward fans who commit for longer.
- Promotions for a limited time, with a discount or free days, aimed at new fans, returning fans or both.
- Free trial links, which give anyone who signs up through that link a few days of access without paying.
How much to charge and when to discount is a strategy decision, not just a setting: it’s all in our OnlyFans pricing guide.
Tracking links
Tracking links are versions of your profile link that let OnlyFans count the clicks and subscribers each one brings in. Create one for every place where you promote yourself (Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, a specific campaign) and within a few weeks you’ll know which platform brings paying fans and which only brings visits.
It’s one of the most revealing features: without it, you’re guessing where to spend your promotion time.
Live streams and tips
You can go live for your subscribers; they comment and send tips while the stream is on. Lives work best when you announce them in advance (on your feed, in stories and by message) and give them a clear reason: a Q&A, a launch or a celebration. Our guide to OnlyFans live streams covers it step by step.
Fans can tip you on posts, in chat and during live streams. Tips don’t replace your other income streams, but they add up, especially when you give fans a reason: a tip goal on a post, a public thank-you or special content when you hit a target.
Referral program
From your account you can share a referral link. If another creator signs up with it, OnlyFans pays you 5% of what they earn during their first year. The cap per referral and the exact conditions are listed in that same section of your account.
OnlyFans statistics
Statistics show your earnings by income type (subscriptions, messages, tips, live streams, referrals), how your posts and messages perform, profile visits and how your subscriber count changes. Your statements list every transaction one by one.
If you only check four things each week, make them these:
- Where the money comes from. If almost everything comes from subscriptions, your chat has room to grow.
- How many fans renew. Lots of new subscribers and few renewals mean your content isn’t delivering what your promotion promises.
- Which posts and messages work. Repeat the formats that sell and drop the ones that don’t.
- Which tracking link brings paying fans. That’s where it’s worth promoting more.
Privacy and security features
Your account settings include privacy and security features worth switching on from day one:
- Geo-blocking, so your profile can’t be seen from the countries or regions you choose.
- Watermark, with your username or any text you like, on the photos and videos you upload.
- Restricting or blocking specific fans.
- Two-step verification, so nobody can get into your account even if they get hold of your password.
New OnlyFans features: how to keep up
OnlyFans adds and changes tools regularly, and menus move around. If something in this guide looks different in your account, trust what you see in your settings and in the OnlyFans Help Center.
OnlyFans features in Spanish
If you run your account in Spanish or work with a Spanish-speaking team, these are the Spanish terms we use for each tool (this guide is also available in Spanish):
| English | Spanish |
|---|---|
| Vault | Bóveda |
| Mass message | Mensaje masivo |
| Paid message (PPV) | Mensaje de pago |
| Fan lists | Listas de fans |
| Scheduled posts and queue | Publicaciones programadas y cola |
| Tracking links | Enlaces de seguimiento |

When the built-in tools aren’t enough
With a few dozen fans, OnlyFans’ own tools are enough. When conversations run into the hundreds, things start to go missing: seeing at a glance how much each fan has spent and what they like, spotting who’s about to leave or automating follow-ups.
That’s what OnlyFans CRMs are for. Ours is GainSubs, with a chat inbox, a profile for every fan, automations and analytics. With or without a tool, the real jump usually comes when the account needs someone to run the day-to-day while you focus on creating.
