There’s no official OnlyFans app in the App Store or Google Play: OnlyFans runs in your browser, on your phone or your computer. What you can do is add onlyfans.com to your home screen and, in about a minute, have an icon that opens just like an app. Any APK file or store app claiming to be OnlyFans isn’t official.
Below are the steps for Android and iPhone, what’s actually in the app stores, why you shouldn’t install APK files and what to do when something doesn’t work.
Is there an official OnlyFans app?
Not for the main platform. Apple’s and Google’s store rules don’t allow the kind of adult content published on OnlyFans, so the platform runs as a website. And the mobile site is built for phones: you can subscribe, pay and chat and, if you’re a creator, post, use the vault or check your statistics, practically the same way you would on a computer.
The one app that does carry the OnlyFans brand is OFTV, a free video app the company launched in 2021 with non-adult content (fitness, cooking, music, comedy) from creators on the platform. It’s a separate service: it doesn’t give you access to your subscriptions or your messages.
If OnlyFans ever launches its own app for the main platform, it’ll announce it on onlyfans.com and in its Help Center. That’s the only reliable place to check.
How to download OnlyFans on Android
With Chrome, the browser that comes with most Android phones:
- Open Chrome and type onlyfans.com in the address bar. Typing it yourself is safer than following a link someone sent you.
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right corner.
- Choose “Add to home screen” (if your browser offers “Install app”, that works too).
- Rename the shortcut if you like and tap “Add”. If your phone asks where to place it, accept or drag the icon where you want it.
OnlyFans is now on your home screen: tap the icon and the site opens with your session already logged in.
On a Samsung phone with Samsung Internet, the path is the menu (☰), then “Add page to” and “Home screen”. Other browsers have a similar option in their main menu.
How to download OnlyFans on iPhone
With Safari:
- Open Safari and go to onlyfans.com.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up). In the latest versions of iOS it may be tucked inside the “⋯” menu in the toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- Pick a name and tap “Add”.
The icon will appear alongside your other apps. On an iPad it works the same way, with the Share button at the top of the screen. Since iOS 16.4 you can also do this from other browsers, such as Chrome, using their own share button.
OnlyFans on your computer
There’s no program for Windows or Mac: go to onlyfans.com in any browser and bookmark it. If you’d rather open it in its own window, Chrome and Edge let you create a shortcut or install any website as an app from their menu.
OnlyFans APK: why you shouldn’t install it
An APK is an Android installation file you download outside Google Play. Since OnlyFans doesn’t distribute its platform that way, any “OnlyFans APK” you find on a download site, in a group chat or in an ad was made by someone else. The risks are real:
- Account theft. Many of them copy the login screen to capture your email and password.
- Card theft. Others ask for your payment details, supposedly for a subscription or for special access.
- Malware. They can ask for permissions they don’t need (messages, contacts, accessibility) to spy on your phone or flood it with ads.
- No safety net. If something goes wrong, OnlyFans isn’t responsible for an app that isn’t theirs.
Be just as wary of apps that promise to show OnlyFans content without paying or to download creators’ videos: they’re scams or piracy, and often both. If you want to try a page before paying, there are legitimate ways to do it, which we explain in how OnlyFans free trials work.
If you’ve already installed one
- Uninstall it and run your phone’s security scan (on Android, Google Play Protect).
- Change your OnlyFans password and your email password, especially if you typed them into that app.
- Turn on two-step verification in your OnlyFans security settings.
- Check your card statements and call your bank if you see charges you don’t recognize.
If you can no longer get into your account, follow the steps in our guide to OnlyFans account recovery.
What you’ll find in the App Store and Google Play
Search for “OnlyFans” in the app stores and you’ll mostly find three kinds of apps:
- Copycats and “guides” with similar names or icons. They aren’t from OnlyFans and, at best, they just open the website.
- Third-party tools for creators (post schedulers, chat managers, CRMs), which can be legitimate but aren’t OnlyFans and shouldn’t ask for your password without explaining why. If that’s what you’re after, see our roundup of tools for OnlyFans creators.
- OFTV, the non-adult video app, if it’s available in your country.
Before installing anything with the OnlyFans name on it, check who the developer is, which permissions it asks for and what the reviews say. And remember: you don’t need any of them to use the platform.
Common problems using OnlyFans on your phone
- The site won’t load or is slow. Check your connection, update your browser, clear the site’s cache or try a different browser. If you’re using a VPN, turn it off and try again.
- You can’t log in. Make sure your email is spelled correctly and use “Forgot password?” if you need to. If you signed up with Google or X, log in with that same button.
- The icon opens your regular browser. That’s expected: it’s a shortcut to the website, not an installed app.
- You’re not getting notifications. Turn them on in your OnlyFans settings, by email or in the browser, and check that your phone isn’t blocking them.
- Your card is declined. It’s usually your bank blocking international online payments. Talk to your bank or try another card.
Safety tips for using OnlyFans on mobile
- Always get there by typing onlyfans.com and check the address bar: there are copycat sites built to steal passwords.
- Use a unique password and turn on two-step verification.
- Don’t share your login details with anyone. Neither OnlyFans nor a serious agency will ever ask for them.
- If you share your phone, use a screen lock or log out: the icon puts your account one tap away. You can give the shortcut any name you like.
Want to open a creator account from your phone?
You can do the whole thing from your phone: sign up, verify your identity with the camera, add a bank account for payouts and publish your first posts. Just remember that creator accounts are only for people aged 18 and over, with a valid government-issued ID.
