Figuring out how to start an OnlyFans as a guy is mostly a business question, not a technical one. You sign up on the same site as everyone else, prove you’re 18 or older with a government-issued photo ID, and keep 80% of what fans pay (OnlyFans takes the other 20%). Whether it pays off has less to do with your looks than with who you’re selling to and how you reach them, and that’s what this guide covers.

Can guys do OnlyFans?

Yes, and there’s no separate version for men. You sign up at onlyfans.com like everyone else, and there are guys on both sides of the platform: fans who pay for subscriptions and creators who get paid for what they post. Fans pay a monthly subscription (or follow you for free, if that’s your model), buy content through messages and send tips.

OnlyFans’ reputation was built mostly by female creators, so it’s fair to ask whether it works for men. It does, but be wary of any precise figure for how many creators are men. OnlyFans doesn’t publish that number or any earnings by gender, and the estimates floating around online contradict each other and rarely cite a source.

Is OnlyFans worth it for guys?

It can be, but keep your expectations in check. A small number of creators earn a lot, and most of them, men and women alike, earn very little. Better to know that now than to find out in month three.

What the numbers say

The most complete official figures are the annual accounts that OnlyFans’ parent company, Fenix International, files with Companies House, the UK’s register of companies. For the year ended November 30, 2025, creators earned about $6.2 billion across roughly 5.1 million creator accounts: an average of about $1,225 a year per account, or just over $100 a month.

That average is misleading, because it lumps the few accounts earning small-business money in with all the accounts that have hardly any activity. OnlyFans doesn’t publish the median, which would tell you what the creator right in the middle earns, and there’s no official list of top male earners either. What little is known about the best-paid creators, men included, is in our roundup of the highest-paid OnlyFans creators. We do the full math, with worked examples, in how much you can make on OnlyFans.

How hard is it to make money on OnlyFans as a guy?

There’s a little research on who actually uses OnlyFans. An online survey of 718 US adults, published in 2022 in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, found that most of the OnlyFans users in its sample were men (Litam, Speciale and Balkin, 2022). It covers one country and an online sample, so take it as a hint, not a headcount. Still, it’s worth taking seriously.

If you’re counting on women to pay you the way plenty of men pay female creators, you’ll probably be disappointed. Women who pay are out there, but they’re a smaller share of the audience. If you’re a straight guy who’d rather sell mostly to women, a niche or personality page is the realistic route, because its audience is whoever follows you for that topic. If your page is adult, expect a good share of your buyers to be men, regardless of who you had in mind, and decide before you start whether you’re comfortable with that. Copying a famous female creator’s playbook won’t change any of this, because your audience is different.

The other thing that holds a lot of guys back is embarrassment. They open an account, never promote it anywhere (not even under a stage name) and a month later decide that “OnlyFans doesn’t work for men.” If nobody knows you exist, nobody subscribes.

When it does pay off

You’ll make money on OnlyFans as a guy when you have a specific audience you know how to reach, give them something they can’t get for free on your social media (more content, a different format, direct access or custom requests) and keep promoting yourself outside OnlyFans for months.

If people already follow you for something (your workouts, your music, your recipes, your gaming), you’re halfway there. OnlyFans becomes the paid tier of something people already get from you for free. You can start from scratch too. It just takes longer.

Age isn’t a barrier either. Beyond the 18+ rule there’s no limit, and in niches like fitness, cooking or DIY, a guy in his 40s may have exactly the experience people want to pay for.

OnlyFans income for men: how much do guys make?

Nobody gets a salary on OnlyFans, men or women. What you earn always comes down to the same formula:

(subscribers × price + extra sales) × 0.80 − costs and taxes

Extra sales are paid messages, tips and custom content. Under OnlyFans’ terms, a subscription can cost from $4.99 to $50 a month, or your page can be free. Here are three hypothetical examples to show how the math works. They aren’t anyone’s real results, and they aren’t a prediction of what you’ll make.

Hypothetical case Monthly revenue You keep (80%)
Trainer: 60 subscribers at $9.99 $599.40 $479.52
Same trainer, plus 15 custom plans at $30 $1,049.40 $839.52
Free page: 80 message sales at $8 $640 $512

In the second row, the same trainer earns 75% more without a single new subscriber, because he sells something custom to some of the fans he already has. What fans buy on top of the subscription can matter as much as the subscription itself, or more.

You still have to subtract bank and currency-conversion fees, your own costs and the tax you’ll owe where you live. Your time isn’t in the table either, and $480 a month for ten hours a week is a very different deal from $480 for forty.

Who you’re selling to: three kinds of pages

Before you think about photos or prices, decide what kind of page you’re building. You can mix them, but make one your main focus.

Three kinds of pages for male creators

Niche page

  • You sell what you already know: training, cooking, music, gaming or art
  • Fits Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, as long as you keep OnlyFans off TikTok entirely and point Instagram to a neutral landing page
  • You have to offer something that isn't free on your socials

Personality page

  • Sells direct access: chat, voice notes, shout-outs and custom content
  • Charisma and consistency matter more than a narrow topic
  • Takes hours of messaging every day

Adult page

  • What OnlyFans is best known for
  • Can only be promoted where the rules allow it, like X and Reddit
  • Higher risk of leaks and of being recognized

On a niche page, your audience is whoever already follows you for that topic, men and women alike, and what they pay for is access: the full program, the whole recipe, the lesson that isn’t on YouTube. A personality page runs on chat. Fans pay to talk to you or hear about your day, which is why it takes up the most time. Whatever kind of page you run, anyone who appears in your content must be 18 or older, verified on OnlyFans and have given written consent.

What to sell: content ideas for male creators

If you’re not sure what to post, start with these ideas. All of them work for a general audience:

Idea On your feed What you sell on top
Fitness Workouts and your progress Custom plans and form checks
Cooking Full recipes A recipe a fan asks for, or a live cook-along
Music Your own songs and rehearsals A song dedicated to a fan
Gaming Gameplay and tips Co-op sessions with fans
Style Beard, hair and outfits Style advice from a fan’s photo
Tattoos and art Process videos and sketches A custom design
Comedy Skits and challenges Personalized video shout-outs
Voice Voice notes and chats Personalized audio messages

If you’re torn between two ideas, pick the one you can keep up for three months without getting bored. The last column is where the money usually is: the personal stuff, whatever makes a fan feel it was made just for them.

How to start an OnlyFans as a guy, step by step

To open an OnlyFans as a man, you need what every creator needs: proof that you’re 18 or older (a government-issued photo ID plus a selfie) and a bank account or other payout method in your own name. What changes is the plan you bring with you:

Starting out as a guy, in 6 steps
  1. Pick your kind of page. A niche, your personality or adult content, and who it's for.
  2. Choose a stage name. Then open fresh social accounts under it, separate from your personal ones.
  3. Open and verify your account. Have your ID and payout details ready. The review can take a little while.
  4. Set up your page with two or three weeks of content. Fans won't pay for an empty page.
  5. Start posting on your main platform before launch. That way you launch to people who are already waiting.
  6. Launch with an offer and check your numbers every week. Visits, subscriptions, renewals and what sells by message.

Our step-by-step guide on how to make an OnlyFans account covers verification and payout details, and the week-by-week plan for your first month is in our guide to starting an OnlyFans from scratch.

OnlyFans name ideas for guys

Your name is the first thing people see and what they’ll type to find you, so give it more than five minutes. A good one is short, easy to say and free of random numbers. It works on OnlyFans, X, Instagram and TikTok alike, and it gives nothing away about who you are.

A few formulas to get you started:

  • A nickname with some personality: “Captain Cardio,” “The Midnight Chef,” “The Sunday Baker.”
  • A persona with its own name and style that you keep everywhere. It’s a good option if you won’t show your face.
  • A play on your niche: “Pitmaster Max” for a barbecue page, “Bench Press Ben” for a lifting one.
  • Your name plus what you do, the easiest of all.

That last one works as a quick name generator. Pick a first name or nickname you’ll use everywhere (Sam, Leo, Max, Theo or one of your own) and add a verb from your niche:

Your niche Add a verb Example
Fitness lifts, trains, runs Sam Lifts
Food cooks, bakes, grills Leo Bakes
Gaming plays, streams Theo Plays
Art and DIY inks, draws, builds Max Builds

What to skip:

Skip Why
Your real first and last name Anyone can find your page with a quick search
Your city or birth year Clues to who you are and how old you are
Explicit words The platforms you promote on restrict those accounts
Random numbers and underscores Hard to remember and type
Celebrity or brand names Impersonation or trademark trouble

Before you settle on one, search for it on OnlyFans and on every platform you plan to use. If it’s taken on one of them, pick another rather than end up with five versions of your name.

Your profile: photos and bio

Taking your own photos

You don’t need a photographer to get started. Good light, a steady phone and a little know-how will do.

Shoot by a window with the light coming from the side. Overhead lights cast harsh shadows and show every bag under your eyes. Put your phone on a tripod, use the rear camera (it’s sharper than the front one) and shoot with the timer or burst mode. Wipe the lens first, and keep the camera at chest height or a little above, because almost nobody looks good shot from below.

A quick checklist for every shoot:

  • A clean background that doesn’t give away where you live: no recognizable view out the window, no family photos, no work uniform hanging behind you.
  • Grooming and clothes that fit the page you’re building: a tidy beard if you have one, outfits that suit your niche and two or three colors you keep coming back to.
  • Twenty shots to keep three, all edited in the same style so your page looks consistent.
  • Location tagging turned off in your camera app.

OnlyFans bio ideas for men

Your bio should say, in two lines, what subscribers get, how often you post and what they can request by message. Here are a few you can adapt:

  • Fitness: “Home workouts that fit a busy week. New routine every Monday. DMs open for questions, custom plans on request.”
  • Music: “Songs I don’t post anywhere else. Rehearsals, new tracks and, if you ask, a song with your name in it.”
  • Personality: “This is where I actually talk. Voice notes, my day-to-day and honest answers to whatever you ask.”
  • Gaming: “Every session, start to finish. Weekly co-op nights with subscribers and tips to help you rank up.”

And a few short lines to close your bio or go with a post:

  • “I reply to every message.”
  • “You pick next week’s video.”
  • “Start with my pinned posts.”
  • “Custom requests by DM.”

How to promote your OnlyFans as a guy

OnlyFans barely shows new pages to people who don’t know you, so almost every subscriber will come from outside. With a niche page, promote where your niche already lives: Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts for fitness, cooking, music or comedy. Keep it all general-audience. Never name or link OnlyFans on TikTok, not even through a link-in-bio page (it has removed accounts for exactly that), and on Instagram send people to a neutral landing page rather than straight to OnlyFans. A personality page does better where people talk, such as X. For an adult page, your realistic options are X and Reddit. Both allow adult content under certain conditions, so read the rules of each platform, and of every subreddit, before you post.

Whatever kind of page you run, one platform you post on every day beats five you check in on now and then. Create a tracking link for each platform (OnlyFans lets you do this) so you can see which ones actually bring in subscribers. Our guide on how to promote OnlyFans walks through every channel and its rules.

Staying anonymous: no face, no friends finding out

You can make money on OnlyFans as a guy without showing your face: with framing that leaves your face out, with a persona or with voice content. OnlyFans sees your face when it verifies your account, but your fans don’t. Watch the details too, because a tattoo, the watch you always wear or the view from your window can give you away just like your face can, and so can your voice if the listener knows you.

To keep friends, family and coworkers from finding out, use a stage name, a new email address, a separate phone number and social accounts that don’t follow anyone you know. Then, in OnlyFans’ settings, block the countries where you don’t want to be seen. Assume anything you upload could leak, and don’t post anything you wouldn’t be OK seeing outside OnlyFans. For content ideas that work without a face, see making money on OnlyFans without showing your face.

OnlyFans agency for male creators: do you need one?

You can absolutely start on your own. You don’t need anyone’s help to open and launch a page. An agency starts to make sense when you want to skip months of trial and error on your profile, pricing and promotion, or when you can’t keep up with messages, content and social media at the same time.

If you’d rather not do it alone, OF Agencia is an OnlyFans management agency that works with male creators, with no upfront fee and no lock-in contract. Each page gets an OnlyFans manager who coordinates the marketing, chat and content team. We reply within 24–48 hours (Monday to Friday) and, if you already have a page, review it within 72 hours at most.

If you’re looking at “OnlyFans for men” courses, steer clear of any that promise a specific monthly income, charge you to learn a “secret method” or ask for your password to “help” you. What actually matters (requirements, pricing, promotion and each platform’s rules) is explained for free in guides like this one. And no serious agency will ask for money upfront or your password to review your page.

Not every OnlyFans career is in front of the camera. Agencies also need chatters, managers and clip editors, and you can see the roles we work with on our OnlyFans agency jobs page.
